Rodger & Co. in 1905 for the Hogarth shipping line, the laminated and carved hull varnished with a black painted topside, mounted on a mirror within it's original wooden case with end mirrors and builders plate, 59cm x 284.5cm x 26cm Note; A. Rodger & Co was founded by Hugh Hogarth and was based at Ardrossan on the Clyde, the company's ships were known locally as the Hungry Hogarths. The ships name Barron Ardrossan is one of the titles held by the Earls of Eglinton who established the port of Ardrossan in 1805. The shipping company had to seek special permission to use the title for the ship.
